“Hm?” One hazy blue eye opened a slit in the dark and focused. It wasn’t usual for Minato to sleep deeply but the last mission had been - very long. And very hard. And his home was the one place that he felt safe enough to fall into oblivion when it was called for. Now though his son was standing in front of his bed, pillow clutched hard in his hands and Minato didn’t have to be entirely awake to already know the answer to that.
“Aah,” it was still sleep slurred but it was sure and he shifted over on the bed, holding up the blanket with one arm to make room for his son, face softening. Truth was that Naruto had slept with him for several years after his birth, filling the empty half of the bed in a way that was a sweet ache of both the memory of what he’d lost - and what he’d been given the night of his son’s birth. He hadn’t wanted to stunt the boy’s growth though and had given him his own room and bed when he’d thought they could both bear it.
It didn’t mean the bed wasn’t cold most nights and the comforting sound of another person simply breathing nearby wasn’t a missing hole in the silence. Minato’s lips softened into a quiet smile, glad his son wasn’t too old to come to him with night fears, sorry for whatever it must be that had sent them his son’s way tonight. Quiet, voice a throaty murmur, opening if Naruto wanted to, gentle understanding if he didn’t, he offered:
“Do you want to talk about it?”

And by the way, the Naruto I RP is usually 17 years old. But its flexible depending on the thread. I RP both narutoverse and AU versions of my muse. Naruto is bisexual/polysexual but that does NOT mean I ship him with everyone.
